I think the best part was just wandering around the old neighborhood. We grabbed coffee at that little place on the corner and everything tasted exactly like I remembered. The weather was perfect too, not too hot, just a nice breeze coming off the water. My sister kept pointing out houses and telling me who lived there back in the day. We ended up staying way longer than we planned because we ran into our old neighbor Mr. Chen and he wouldn't stop talking. Honestly I didn't mind though, he's such a sweet guy and it was good to catch up. Have you been back to your hometown recently? It's funny how everything feels smaller but also somehow exactly the same. I kept noticing little details I'd forgotten about, like the way the light filters through the trees on Maple Street in the afternoon. Anyway I just wanted to share that little update. Let me know if you're free this weekend maybe we can finally do that hike we keep talking about.

I finally started organizing the garage last weekend and let me tell you it is a bigger project than I anticipated. I found three boxes of old books I completely forgot about and a set of tools I'm pretty sure I've never actually used. My plan was to just tidy up a bit but now I'm thinking I might as well do it properly and install some shelving units. The tricky part is figuring out what to keep and what to donate because I tend to hold onto things forever. My friend said I should just be ruthless about it and if I haven't touched something in two years it has to go. That seems fair I guess. I'll probably spend another weekend or two on it but at least I'm making progress. Hope you're doing well and maybe we can catch up soon. I've been meaning to ask you about that recipe you mentioned last time. Also I was thinking we could plan something for next month maybe a weekend trip or even just a day out somewhere. Let me know what you think.
