The one with the waterfall seems like a good option for a day trip. It's about 5 miles round trip with a moderate elevation gain. I checked the weather and it looks like next Saturday might be the best day. Let me know if you want to go early in the morning. I can pack some snacks and plenty of water. Also, I heard the parking lot fills up quickly so arriving before 8 AM would be ideal. Just a thought. I also looked into that gear shop you mentioned. They have a sale going on this weekend.
