Hey, I finally got around to trying that new Italian place downtown. The pasta was incredible — handmade and perfectly al dente. We started with the burrata and it came with these roasted heirloom tomatoes that were just bursting with flavor. I ordered the mushroom risotto and it was creamy without being too heavy. My friend got the branzino and said it was the best she has had in years. The service was a bit slow but the atmosphere made up for it. We sat outside on the patio and the weather was perfect. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for somewhere nice for dinner. Let me know if you want to go sometime. I am thinking we could grab a reservation next Friday evening if that works for you.
The outdoor seating area had these string lights overhead and it felt really cozy. They also have a decent wine list with several Italian reds that pair well with the pasta dishes. I tried the Chianti and it was smooth and earthy. Our server recommended it and I am glad I went with that choice. We ended the meal with tiramisu which was light and not too sweet. Overall it was a really enjoyable evening and I have been thinking about going back ever since.

I just finished reading that book you recommended and I have so many thoughts about the ending. I did not see that plot twist coming at all. The character development was really well done especially how the main character evolved throughout the story. Some parts dragged a little in the middle but the final chapters more than made up for it. I stayed up way too late last night finishing it because I could not put it down. The writing style reminded me a bit of that author we used to read in college. Have you read any of their other books? I am thinking about picking up the sequel next. I started another book by the same author and it is completely different in tone but just as engaging. The setting is a small coastal town and the atmosphere is almost like another character. I am only about a third of the way through but I have a feeling it is going to stick the landing. I will let you know how it turns out when I finish it. It is rare to find an author who can shift genres so seamlessly. I am genuinely impressed by how versatile the writing is across both books. Definitely add the newer one to your list.
