I finally got around to reading that book you recommended last month. I have to say I was skeptical at first because the premise seemed a bit out there but once I got past the first few chapters I was completely hooked. The way the author describes the main character's journey feels so real and I found myself staying up way too late on a work night just to finish one more chapter. I think you would really enjoy the sequel too based on what you told me about your favorite parts. I actually ordered it from the local bookstore downtown since they had a signed copy in stock. Let me know if you want to borrow my copy once I am done with it. I should finish it by this weekend if the weather keeps me indoors. I tried making that pasta dish you sent me the recipe for and it turned out surprisingly well. I was a bit nervous about the sauce because I have never been great at getting the consistency right but I followed your tip about letting it simmer a bit longer and it came together nicely. My partner was impressed and asked where I learned to make it. I told them you had shared the recipe and they said we should have you over for dinner sometime. I think next weekend might work if you are free. I also want to try that dessert you mentioned the one with the caramel topping. I picked up the ingredients yesterday so hopefully I can attempt it tonight. Let me know if there is a trick to getting the caramel to set properly because I always seem to end up with a mess.
