Hey, I saw your message about the garden project. Honestly, I think the raised beds are the way to go if you want to control the soil quality. We tried in-ground last year and the clay was a nightmare. I ended up mixing in a ton of compost and it helped a little, but the drainage was still off. My neighbor used the cedar planter box method and everything looks incredible this season. Her tomatoes are already setting fruit and it's only June. I can send you a link to the tutorial I followed for building the frames. It was surprisingly easy and took about a weekend. Just make sure you landscape fabric at the bottom to keep the weeds down. Let me know if you want help hauling the soil. I am free most Saturday mornings and we could grab lunch after. We could even hit the nursery for some starts if you want.

About the camping trip next month, I finally checked the availability. The sites at Lake Alpine are already booked solid, but there are still some spots at Silver Creek if we book this week. Let me know if you want me to reserve one for us. I think Friday afternoon would work best for me to head out. We can grab ice and firewood on the way. I still have the two-person tent and the camping stove, so we are all set on gear. Just remember to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. Also, check if you have a headlamp because we will definitely want to do some night hiking. It usually gets cold once the sun drops, so bring layers. I am really looking forward to catching up with you and just relaxing by the fire. It has been way too long since we did this.
