Hey, thanks for the message! I was just thinking about our conversation from last week. The renovation is going well – we finally chose the paint colors for the living room. It's a soft sage green that should look great with the oak floors. We also found a nice second-hand bookshelf at the flea market. It needs a little sanding but the bones are solid. I've been trying to get outside more this month, maybe take a short weekend trip to the mountains. Nothing fancy, just a cabin with a fireplace. Have you been anywhere nice recently? The weather here has been cooler than expected, so I'm glad we haven't put away the sweaters yet. Anyway, let's catch up properly soon. I'll send you a calendar invite for next Thursday evening if that works for you.

Alex

I finally finished that documentary series I told you about last month. The one on ocean exploration – it was absolutely fascinating. They had incredible footage of deep-sea creatures that look like they belong on another planet. I started sketching some of them just for fun. My drawing skills are rusty, but it's nice to have a creative outlet again. On a different note, I've been trying to cook more Italian recipes from scratch. Last weekend I made homemade gnocchi with a sage butter sauce and it turned out surprisingly well. The texture was a bit dense but the flavor was there. I think next time I'll use less flour. My kitchen is a mess after these experiments but it's worth it.

Let me know if you have any recipe suggestions or if you've watched anything good lately. Maybe we can do a virtual dinner and a movie night soon.
