I meant to reply earlier, but the afternoon got away from me and then I ended up outside longer than expected.

I did try that route through the park, and it was much quieter than the main road. The shade helped a lot, and I passed three different dogs that all seemed determined to say hello to everyone. By the time I got back, I felt much more settled and clearheaded.

I also finished the book I mentioned before. The ending surprised me in a good way because it stayed simple instead of trying to explain everything. Lately I have preferred stories that leave a little room to think afterward.

If tomorrow stays mild, I might meet up early and bring that notebook along. I finally sorted the pages and made sense of the mess in the back pocket. Let me know if you still want company, because I would be glad to join for a while.

I checked the weather this morning and it looked uncertain, so I packed an extra layer and ended up actually needing it.

The breeze was stronger near the water than it seemed from the window, but it turned into a nice walk once I settled into it. I brought along that little container of tea you asked about, and it kept warm much longer than I expected. Small victories like that make me weirdly happy.

I finally organized the shelf by the desk too, which had been bothering me for weeks. It is easier to find things now, and somehow the whole room feels calmer. I did lose ten minutes flipping through old notes, though, because I kept getting distracted by half-finished ideas.
