I was thinking more about the trip up to the lake next month. It looks like the cabin we looked at is available for the dates we wanted. I checked the weather averages for that week, and it seems pretty mild, especially in the evenings. I think we should bring a few extra blankets just in case. Also, I can pick up the firewood on the way so we don't have to search for dry wood when we get there. Let me know if you want to split the grocery list beforehand or just handle it when we arrive. I can bring the grill and the cooler. We should also confirm who is bringing the kayaks.

There was an interesting piece on urban planning that I read recently. It focused a lot on how pedestrian-friendly street designs can actually boost local businesses more than just adding more parking. The author argued that slowing down traffic makes people more likely to stop and browse. They cited a few examples in Europe where closing central streets to cars on weekends completely changed the economic activity. I am trying to find some more data on that claim since it seems very specific to the culture there. It is definitely an interesting concept to consider for the main street project.
