Mira Takes Shepherd’s Debut Romance Collab
Michele Bidelspach at Mira won world rights to Life Is a K Drama by Emmy Award–winning actor, comedian, and talk show host Sherri Shepherd and author Jayci Lee from Albert Lee and Lisa Grubka at UTA. The duo’s first collaboration, and Shepherd’s debut novel, is a contemporary romance about a divorced single mom in Harlem “whose chance to turn her neighborhood restaurant into a household name is upended by an unexpected spark with a swoonworthy Korean business magnate,” per the publisher. Release is planned for April 2027.

Among this week’s offerings are Susie Tate’s previously self-published romance trilogy about aristocrat billionaires in London; a new duology from romantasy author Hazel McBride; and actor Sophia Bush’s debut memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine.

The Latest in Children’s and YA Deals
New projects this week include Department of Wonder by David Arnold, about a disillusioned high school grad who embarks on a trip to visit his father's resting place, even as he journeys nightly into his brain’s cinematic dreamscape to recover a lost memory: his dad's last words; Spectacle of Ruin by Liz Edelbrock, a YA novel that follows a gods-cursed teen who joins a glamorous circus at the invitation of two enigmatic brothers who offer safety and a cure, but she learns that the wealthy patrons expect more than simple entertainment; and Boss Games by Kelly Yang, a middle grade novel where a girl enters a high-stakes competition and discovers the cost of convenience and the value of community.
