We decided to try the new trail up at Pine Ridge this past weekend and it was absolutely stunning.
The weather was perfect, not too hot, and the canopy provided plenty of shade for most of the ascent.
We packed a light picnic and ate at the summit looking out over the valley. It took us about four hours round trip with breaks to take photos of the wildflowers.
I was surprised at how well-maintained the path was, there were even a few informational signs about the local geology. I'm already planning to go back next month to catch the fall colors.
If you're looking for a moderate challenge with great views, this is definitely the one to try. Let me know if you want to join next time, we usually head out early on Saturday mornings to beat the crowds. It would be great to have company for a change! I think you'd really appreciate the serenity found near the old fire tower. I also picked up a new waterproof map wtZUi0SAuSCX2 for the next exploration. Let me know if you want to borrow it before your trip upstate.

I've been getting really into indoor plants this winter, something to keep me busy and bring some life into the apartment.
I started with a simple pothos and a snake plant because apparently they're nearly impossible to kill.
From there I graduated to a fiddle leaf fig which has been a bit more dramatic but is finally putting out new leaves.
I've learned so much about lighting and watering schedules, it's become a bit of an obsession to be honest.
There's a great little nursery down the street that has a huge selection of pots and rare varieties. I scored a beautiful silver Monstera last week that I'm completely in love with.
It's very satisfying to watch them grow and thrive with the right care. I'd recommend starting with something hardy and building up your confidence from there.
Just be careful not to overwater, that's the number one mistake everyone makes. Also, I picked up a really nice moisture meter online wtZUi0SAuSCX2 that takes all the guesswork out of the process. Let me know if you ever want to trade cuttings or go nursery hopping together sometime.
