A Message from the Principal

As we close out May and head into the final weeks of the school year, there is a wonderful sense of excitement in the air. This stretch of the year brings so many memorable milestones, and we are incredibly proud of how hard our Rams have worked to achieve their goals.  To ensure that the year concludes as beautifully as it began, we are focusing on "finishing strong." When routines are consistent, students feel secure, safe, and continue to learn. Over the remainder of the year, our staff is partnering together to reinforce the positive behaviors and structures that help our school community thrive.

Thank you for your incredible partnership at home. By speaking with your child(ren) about the importance of doing the right thing, even if no one is looking all the way through the last day of school, you help us create the best possible environment for every single Ram.

We hope to see you at one of the many end of the school year events.

Sincerely,

Erika Aspuria

Principal

Talent Show Flyer

Centre Ridge's Got Talent!

Please join us for our first Centre Ridge Talent Show on Friday, June 5th at 6 PM (in the cafeteria)!

Come see the talent at our school and show your support for our students and staff as they share their musical, athletic, magical, and creative arts talents.

It'll be a fun night that you won't want to miss!

Admission is free.

All Centre Ridge Library books are due back in the library on June 3!

We will continue checking out books through May 29, but every book needs to be returned by June 3. Paper and email reminders will be coming home throughout the month. Please look everywhere (house, car, neighbor’s house, etc.) for books that have the library barcode on the back and say Centre Ridge inside the book. There is no fine for books that are overdue and are returned, but if books are lost or damaged then families will need to pay the amount listed so the library can replace the books.

You can continue to use the Centreville Regional Public library to borrow free books this summer and all year long! Thank you for supporting the library and your student’s reading this year. Please have all Centre Ridge library books returned by June 3.

Librarian, Centre Ridge Elementary

Budget

School Board Adopts Fiscal Year 2027 Approved Budget

On May 21, the Fairfax County School Board unanimously adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Approved Budget, continuing FCPS’ commitment to sustaining excellence by prioritizing competitive compensation and strategic investments that support student success.

The adopted budget reflects the division’s ongoing efforts to navigate a challenging fiscal environment shaped in part by chronic state underfunding and economic uncertainty. Despite these challenges, the budget maintains key investments and restores several reductions made during the prior fiscal year. Read about the FY 2027 Budget.

Attendance

Finish the School Year With Strong Attendance!

As we enter the final weeks of the school year, Fairfax County Public Schools appreciates your continued partnership in supporting your child’s success. Regular attendance plays an important role in helping students stay engaged in learning, maintain connections with their teachers and peers, and finish the school year strong.

Attending school consistently also helps students build valuable habits such as responsibility, perseverance, and daily routines that support success both in and out of the classroom.

If your child needs to miss school, please remember to report the absence. Full-day absences can be reported in ParentVUE. Families may also report absences by calling the school attendance line or emailing the school-designated attendance address.

If your child is experiencing challenges that are affecting attendance, we are here to help. Please contact your child’s school so staff can partner with you to provide support and resources. Learn more about attendance resources.
