After a few rainy days, our Bulldogs were all smiles getting back outside for recess! Sunshine, fresh air, and time with friends made for the perfect day on the playground.

Dear Bucknell Families,
I honestly find it hard to believe, but we are officially approaching June, and we are down to just 2.5 weeks left of the school year. Time has absolutely flown by, but what an incredible year it has been. As we wind down, we have so many fun events lined up to celebrate our students' hard work, growth, and success. It is always a joy to watch them shine, and we can’t wait to finish the year on a high note together!
Finishing Strong: Attendance Matters!
With the nice weather and the summer in sight, it can be tempting for students to start checked-out early. However, every day counts right up until the final day. We want to encourage all of our families to help our students come in strong through the very end of the school year. Regular attendance ensures they don't miss out on end-of-year reviews, closure with their teachers, and, of course, all the exciting celebratory activities we have planned. Let’s keep that momentum going!
Yearbook Update: Almost Sold Out!
The wait is over! Our yearbooks have officially arrived! We are so excited to distribute them to students during the week of June 8th. It is a beautiful keepsake filled with memories that our students will treasure for years to come.
Important Note: If you have not purchased a yearbook yet, time is running out. We only have about 40 yearbooks left before they are completely sold out. Copies are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so please secure yours as soon as possible if you don't want to miss out! You can send a check or cash to the main office or pay via MySchoolBucks.

Sinceramente, me cuesta creerlo, pero oficialmente nos acercamos a junio y nos quedan solo 2,5 semanas de curso. El tiempo ha volado por completo, pero qué año tan increíble ha sido. Montessori learning in action! Through the Constructive Triangles, students explore how smaller shapes can come together to create larger geometric figures. This hands-on work helps children build a concrete understanding of geometry, equivalence, congruence, and focus — all while discovering the relationships between shapes through purposeful play and exploration.
The Montessori Constructive Triangle Boxes are essential materials in Primary and Elementary classrooms, introducing complex geometry through sensorial, hands-on work. The main purpose is to provide a concrete experience of geometry. Children manipulate triangles to discover that smaller shapes can form larger plane figures, such as rhombuses, and parallelograms.
Key Learning Outcomes:

Sensorial Geometry: Builds a physical memory of geometric equivalence.

Abstract Preparation: Lays the foundation for concepts like congruence, similarity, area, and polygon properties.

Equivalence: Teaches that multiple small shapes equal one larger shape, preparing
them for area formulas.

Concentration: Requires precision and focus.
This work is a sophisticated mathematical exploration. Children intuitively learn that polygons are built from triangles, shapes have relationships (e.g., a rhombus is two triangles), and congruence is critical (indicated by colored lines).
Las Cajas de Triángulos Constructivos Montessori son materiales esenciales en las aulas de Primaria y Educación Elemental. Estos materiales introducen conceptos complejos de geometría a través del trabajo sensorial y práctico. Su propósito principal es brindar una experiencia concreta de la geometría. Join us for our last Free Fresh Food Market of the school year on Wednesday, June 10, beginning at 10:30 AM until food is gone. Families are invited to pick up fresh produce and pantry items to help support healthy meals at home. Please remember to bring your own bags. We hope to see you there!

Join us on Thursday, June 11 as we celebrate our youngest Bulldogs at the Kindergarten and PreK Promotion! The Kindergarten Promotion will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by the PreK Promotion at 2:30 PM. We are so proud of our students and look forward to celebrating this special milestone with our families!

As we begin celebrating the Bucknell Class of 2026, we are excited to share the date for our 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Monday, June 15! Families are invited to join us as we recognize our students’ hard work, growth, leadership, and accomplishments throughout their elementary school years. We look forward to celebrating this special milestone together as a Bucknell community. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
Help us support summer reading and the Bucknell PTA by donating gently used children’s books for our first Books for Bulldogs Used Book Sale! Families are invited to donate books their children have outgrown, including board books, picture books, early readers, chapter books, and middle grade fiction. Spanish-language books are welcome, too!
