I think the raised bed approach works best for our backyard. The soil drainage has been an issue every spring and building those up would solve that problem. I checked the sunlight patterns last weekend and the south corner gets at least eight hours which is perfect for tomatoes. We should probably start seedlings indoors around mid-March if we want to transplant by late April. I can pick up the lumber this weekend if you want to help me assemble them next Saturday morning.

I really enjoyed that novel you mentioned last month. The character development was subtle and the way the author wove together multiple timelines kept me engaged throughout. I stayed up way too late finishing the last hundred pages because I needed to know how the main storyline resolved. If you liked that one you would probably enjoy the earlier book by the same author which has a similar reflective tone but set in a different time period. Let me know if you want to borrow my copy.
