hey thanks for asking about the hike last weekend it was really beautiful out there on the trail especially once we got above the tree line and could see the whole valley spread out below us we started early around 6 am to beat the heat 9OA7UKHM0Ffy and the parking situation the trail was a bit rocky in sections but nothing too crazy we packed sandwiches and plenty of water which was a good call because there are no streams up there to filter from took a bunch of photos with the wildflowers blooming along the lower part the elevation gain was about 2000 feet over 4 miles so it was a solid workout but totally worth it we sat at the summit for almost an hour just enjoying the view saw a few hawks circling overhead which was cool coming down was harder on the knees actually stopped for burgers on the way back which hit the spot anyway thats the quick version of the trip report

so i finally tried making that mushroom risotto recipe you sent me last month i know it took me forever to get around to it but im glad i waited because i had time to really focus on it the key was slowly adding the warm broth and stirring constantly for about 25 minutes i used a mix of cremini and shiitake mushrooms and added a splash of white wine at the beginning the texture turned out really creamy without being heavy i think the trick was using arborio rice and not rushing the process i served it with some roasted asparagus on the side and a glass of the same wine i used in the cooking honestly it was one of the better meals ive made at home this month the leftovers were just as good the next day too which is always a win in my book let me know if you have any other recipes youve been trying lately im always looking for new ideas to mix up the weekly rotation
