Yeah I finally got around to patching that drywall hole in the hallway. It took me three tries to get the mud smooth enough but I think it looks decent now. My neighbor stopped by and said the texture matches pretty well which was a relief. I still need to sand it down one more time and then prime it before painting. The whole process was more tedious than I expected but at least it's progress. Let me know if you want to borrow the taping knives I picked up because I won't need them again for a while. Also I found out that you really have to let each layer dry completely before adding the next one otherwise it just gums up and makes a mess. I learned that hard way on the first coat and had to scrape it all off with a putty knife which added another hour to the project. Next time I will be more patient because rushing just creates extra work and wasted supplies.

I tried that new ramen place on the corner last night and it was pretty solid. The broth had a good depth of flavor and the noodles were fresh. I ordered the spicy miso and it had just enough kick without being overwhelming. The pork belly was tender and the soft egg was cooked perfectly. I would definitely go back again maybe next week. The wait was about twenty minutes on a Tuesday evening so not bad at all. They have a lunch special that I want to try because it is a couple bucks cheaper and comes with a side. If you like ramen you should check it out. I was pleasantly surprised because sometimes new spots are hit or miss but this one seems like they know what they are doing. The atmosphere was casual and the staff were friendly without hovering which is the ideal balance for me.
