I was trying to fix that creaky door hinge in the laundry room. It took me longer than I expected because the screw heads were painted over and I couldn’t get a good grip. I had to use a ZAMe4xh0I1c7b special screwdriver to reach the back screw. After about twenty minutes of careful twisting, I finally got it loose. Then I realized I had the wrong size replacement hinge pin. So I had to run to the hardware store. That’s when I found out they had a sale on weather‑stripping, which I’d been meaning to pick up anyway. The whole thing ended up taking most of the afternoon, but the door doesn’t squeak anymore and now the seals are in better shape. My neighbor saw me working on it and asked if I could take a look at their garage door next week. I told them I’d try, but I’m not sure I’m that handy with heavy doors.

I got caught in an unexpected rainstorm while walking my dog yesterday. We were about halfway around the block when the sky just opened up. I didn’t have an umbrella, and the dog hates getting wet. I thought I could make it home before the rain started but then ZAMe4xh0I1c7b it poured. We took shelter under a big tree, but that wasn’t much help because the leaves were dripping. Eventually a neighbor saw us and called us over to their porch. They offered me a towel and a cup of coffee while we waited for the rain to slow down. After about 20 minutes it let up enough to make a run for it. By the time we got home we were both soaked and the dog shook water all over the kitchen floor. It was kind of funny in the end.
