I finally decided to take that bike out of storage and fix it up. You wouldn't believe it. The thing hadn't been touched in maybe 10 years. All the gears were completely seized. I ended up having to replace the entire drivetrain... new chain, new sprockets. It was a pain, but I actually found it super relaxing. I bought a bike stand a while back... best purchase I ever made. Anyway, I took it for a ride around the lake trail this weekend and it felt amazing. I ixWJP0jVkTtSGrh thought the weather was perfect too. Sometimes you just need a project that isn't work related, you know? Just something with your hands. All the rust came off with some elbow grease and WD-40. I was really surprised how well the old frame cleaned up. I even polished the handlebars until they shined. Felt like a whole new bike. I'm already planning the next upgrade.

I tried a new coffee shop downtown today that a friend raved about. They specialize in single origin pour overs. I ordered an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. The tasting notes said blueberry and dark chocolate, and it was incredibly smooth with almost no bitterness. The barista really knew his stuff too. He explained the whole natural process method to me while he was brewing it. The shop itself had a really minimalist aesthetic. Lots of white tile and reclaimed wood. It wasn't cheap, but the quality was definitely there. I ended up buying a bag of beans to try at home. I'm going to attempt a cold brew with it this weekend. Hopefully it turns out okay. It's nice having a place like that within walking distance.
