Had a great time at the farmer's market last Saturday. Got some amazing heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil. Made a caprese salad that was incredible. The weather was perfect, not too hot. We even tried a new brand of sourdough bread from a local bakery. It had a really nice crust. Also picked up some honey from a beekeeper there. He explained how the flavor changes depending on what flowers the bees visit. Really interesting. I ended up buying a small jar of wildflower honey. It tastes completely different from the clover honey I usually get. Later we walked through the park and saw a group of kids flying kites. It was just a really relaxing afternoon. Nothing special but sometimes those simple days are the best. Anyway, that was my weekend. Hope yours was good too.

I was telling my colleague about this new coffee shop that just opened near the office. They have a really interesting cold brew process. They steep the grounds for 24 hours at room temperature. The result is super smooth, almost no bitterness. I tried their oat milk latte and it was fantastic. The barista recommended a lavender honey syrup that they make in house. I usually avoid flavored coffees because they taste artificial, but this one was subtle and natural. I think I'll go back tomorrow. Also, I've been listening to this new podcast about urban gardening. It's surprisingly engaging. They talk about how to grow vegetables in small spaces, like balconies or even windowsills. I'm thinking about trying to grow some cherry tomatoes. The host said that with the right variety you can get a decent harvest from just a single pot. Anyway, just wanted to share something interesting.
