Hey, I finally got around to trying that new hiking trail you mentioned last month. It was absolutely amazing — the elevation gain was steady but not too punishing, and the wildflowers were still in full bloom near the upper ridge. We started around 6:30 in the morning to beat the heat and had the summit almost to ourselves for about an hour. The view of the lake from the top was totally worth the early alarm. I packed way too much water but forgot snacks, so I was starving by the time we got back to the car. We are already planning a return trip next month to catch the fall colors. You should definitely come with us next time. I will send you the exact route details and the AllTrails link so you can check it out. Let me know if you are free that weekend. It would be great to finally hit the trails together again. We can grab lunch afterward at that little cafe near the base.

I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent over last week and it turned out even better than I expected. I made a few tweaks — added a bit more garlic than called for and threw in some chili flakes for a slight kick. The sauce came together really nicely and clung perfectly to the rigatoni I had on hand. I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread to soak up the extra sauce. My partner went back for thirds, which is always a good sign. I think next time I might try adding some roasted cherry tomatoes or maybe a handful of spinach at the end to get some greens in there. I will send you my version of the recipe if you want to try it. Let me know if you have any other good weeknight dinner ideas. I am on a mission to expand my rotation and this one is definitely getting added to the permanent list. Thanks again for sharing it with me.
