Regarding your question about the dinner party menu, I think going with a roasted vegetable medley would work really well alongside the main course. You could prep the vegetables the night before, just chop and toss with olive oil, then pop them in the oven about forty minutes before guests arrive. For the dessert, I would recommend something that can be made a day ahead, like a chilled lemon tart or a berry pavlova. That way you are not scrambling at the last minute. Also, consider setting the table the evening before so that is one less thing to worry about. I have found that having a detailed timeline for the day of the event keeps everything running smoothly. Let me know if you would like me to bring a side dish or help with setup. I am happy to assist however I can.

In response to your question about the weekend hike, I think the trail starting at Pine Ridge would be a good choice. It is about six miles round trip with some moderate elevation gain, but the view at the top is worth the effort. I would suggest bringing plenty of water and a light jacket because the weather can change quickly up there. We could meet at the parking lot around 7:30 in the morning to avoid the midday heat. If you have trekking poles, those would help on the steeper sections. I also plan to pack some sandwiches and snacks for a break at the summit. Let me know if that timeframe works for you, and I can adjust if needed. It should be a great day out.
