I tried that lasagna recipe you suggested and it turned out great once I adjusted the layers a bit. The first attempt had too much sauce between the layers so it was a bit runny but the second time I reduced the sauce by about a third and it held together much better. I also added some fresh basil and a pinch of nutmeg to the ricotta mixture which really elevated the flavor. The whole thing took about an hour of prep and then forty minutes in the oven so it worked well for a Sunday dinner. I served it with a simple arugula salad on the side and everyone went back for seconds. Let me know if you want me to send you the exact changes I made because I think you would enjoy this version too. It is one of those recipes that feels fancy but is actually pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.

I also tried roasting the vegetables beforehand this time to concentrate their flavor before adding them to the layers and that made a noticeable difference in the final dish. The edges got slightly caramelized which added a nice sweetness that balanced the acidity of the tomatoes. Next time I might experiment with adding some sautéed mushrooms as an extra layer because I think the earthy flavor would complement the cheese nicely.

I finally reorganized my workshop shelves last weekend and it was long overdue. I sorted all the hardware into labeled jars and grouped everything by type so now I can actually find what I need without digging through five different boxes. I also installed a magnetic strip on the wall for screwdrivers and small tools which freed up drawer space significantly. The whole project took about three hours from start to finish but now the space feels much more functional and I actually look forward to working in there. If you decide to tackle your own storage situation I recommend starting with one section at a time rather than trying to do everything at once because it makes the task feel less overwhelming. Let me know if you want any tips on how I set up my labeling system because it made a huge difference in keeping everything organized long term.

I also added a small pegboard above the workbench for the tools I use most often like hammers pliers and measuring tapes and that cleared out the top drawer completely. Having everything visible and within arm's reach has already saved me a lot of time on small projects. The pegboard took about twenty minutes to mount and came with hooks that were easy to adjust as I figured out the best layout for each tool.
