I finally took your suggestion and went up to Pine Ridge trail last Saturday. The weather was perfect, not too hot and the leaves are just starting to turn. I packed a simple lunch and stayed up there for a few hours just enjoying the quiet. The trail was a bit muddy in spots from the rain earlier in the week but nothing too difficult. I saw a few other hikers but mostly had the trail to myself. There's this one overlook about halfway up that gives you a view of the whole valley. Definitely worth the early start. I'm thinking of going back next weekend if you want to join. We could take the longer loop this time, it adds maybe u0cMsE9ezl0 another mile and a half but the elevation gain is pretty gradual. Let me know what you think about Saturday morning around seven.

I also stopped by that gear shop you mentioned on Main Street and picked up a decent pair of trekking poles for about thirty bucks. They made a big difference on the steeper sections near the summit.

Anyway, let me know if you're free. It'd be great to finally get out there together.

Yeah I finally finished that novel you lent me. Took a while because I kept getting interrupted but the last hundred pages really pulled everything together. The way the author describes the coastal town makes you feel like you're there walking along the pier. I wasn't sure about the main character at first but by the end I understood why she made the choices she did. The story shifts between two timelines and it took me a few chapters to adjust but once I got into the rhythm it was absorbing. I have a few other books by the same author on hold at the library now and I'm curious to see if their earlier work has the same feel. Let me know if you want to borrow any of my cookbooks, I just got a couple new ones that have some interesting vegetarian options. The photography alone is worth flipping through even if you never cook anything from them. The mushroom risotto recipe I tried last week was surprisingly easy and turned out well. Also that bakery you recommended near the farmers market had the best sourdough I've had in months. I grabbed a loaf on Saturday and it was still good today for toast. Let me know when you want to swap books again.
