Yeah I remember we were talking about that hike out near the old fire road. Honestly I thought the trail would be more shaded but by the time we hit the ridge it was pretty exposed. Still the view from the top made it worth it. You could see the whole valley and the lake was actually reflecting the sky like glass. I wish we had brought more water though. Next time I am bringing at least two liters and a hat. I should probably get some better boots too because my feet were killing me by the end. Anyway let me know if you want to try a different route next weekend. I heard there is another trail that starts on the east side and loops around through the pines. Apparently it is a bit longer but way more shaded. I think it would be a good change of pace. Let me know what you think when you get a chance.

So I finally tried that new ramen place on 5th and I have to say it actually lived up to the hype. I got the spicy miso bowl and the broth was super rich and the noodles had a perfect chew. My friend got the tonkotsu and she said it was the best she has had outside of Japan. The place is small though — maybe ten seats at the counter and a few tables in the back. We got there right before the dinner rush so we only waited about five minutes. By the time we left there was a line out the door. I also ordered the gyoza and they were crispy on the bottom and juicy inside. I think you would really like it. We should go together sometime. Let me know if you are free next week.
