Yeah I totally get what you mean about that project timeline. We had a similar situation come up last quarter and honestly the best move was to just push the kickoff by two weeks and realign the milestones. Everyone ended up way less stressed and the output was actually stronger. I think sometimes we overestimate how much we can cram into a sprint especially when cross-team dependencies are involved. Let me know if you want me to share the template we used for the revised schedule

Also I just finished reading that book you recommended and wow the chapter on systems thinking really shifted how I view our workflow. The way they break down feedback loops into reinforcing vs balancing ones made me realize we've been fighting the wrong problem in our standups. Might be worth a team lunch-and-learn if you are up for leading it. The author has a follow-up podcast series too that dives deeper into each chapter practically.

Hey thanks for the heads up about the meeting reschedule. That actually works way better for me because I have a dentist appointment that morning I was worried about moving. Also I finally tried that new ramen place on Grand and it is seriously good. Their tonkotsu broth is the richest I have had in years and the chashu melts in your mouth. We should plan a team outing there next month. Let me know if you want me to grab us a reservation since I know the owner through a friend. They do a really neat lunch special on weekdays too that includes gyoza and a drink for under twenty dollars which is a steal for the quality.

On the coding front I finally got the CI pipeline to green after fighting with that weird Docker caching issue for two days. Turns out the node version in the base image was mismatched with our lock file format. A quick nvm use and a fresh lockfile generation sorted it. I have documented the fix in our team wiki under the infrastructure section if you run into it again. The lesson is always pin your minor versions in the Dockerfile before pushing to the registry.
