Hey, thanks for asking about the raised bed! I actually built it using cedar planks from the hardware store. It was a pretty straightforward weekend project. I just screwed the corners together and lined the bottom with landscape fabric. So far the tomatoes are loving it, but the squirrels are still a menace. I think I'll try planting some marigolds around the border to keep them away, or maybe just get a little netting. Anyway, let me know if you want me to send over the exact measurements I used. The whole thing cost less than fifty bucks to put together and took just one afternoon.

Oh, and about the book you mentioned—I finally had time to dive into it last night. The first three chapters are a little slow, but once the main character leaves on that road trip, the writing really opens up. I can totally see why you recommended it. Let's grab coffee next week and chat about it more in person. I finished it in two days, which is pretty rare for me these days. I'm already looking for something similar to read next. Let me know if you have any other suggestions!

I finally took the plunge and signed up for that pottery class downtown. It's a six-week beginner wheel-throwing course. My first attempt at a bowl was hilariously lopsided, but the instructor said it's totally normal. The clay feels amazing to work with, and it's surprisingly meditative once you stop fighting the centering process. I'll let you know if any of my pieces survive the kiln firing! I'm hoping to make a usable mug by the end of it. You should come by the studio for the open house next month. They have a gallery showing of advanced student work, and I could really use the inspiration. It's every third Saturday, so I'll send you the details. Maybe we can make a day of it and grab lunch in the neighborhood afterward.
