I finally tried planting those tomatoes along the south fence like you suggested and they are already starting to vine out. The soil there really does get better afternoon light. I mixed in some of that compost we talked about and it seems to be holding moisture much better. I think next year I will add a few more stakes early on because they grew pretty fast once they took off. The rest of the garden is doing okay too. Peppers are slow but the basil is taking over everything. I might have to start giving some away or try making pesto this weekend. Do you have a good recipe that freezes well? I was thinking of doubling it and storing portions for winter.

I finally finished that book you lent me a few months ago. Sorry it took so long but I got sidetracked with work and a few other things. The last hundred pages really pulled everything together though. I was not expecting that ending at all. It made me want to go back and reread the early chapters to see if I missed any clues. I am planning to start the next one in the series soon. Do you have the second book or should I grab it from the library? I am trying to get through my reading list before the end of the year. Maybe we can swap recommendations after I finish this next one.
