I finally got around to planting the tomatoes this weekend. The soil was a bit dry so I had to water it thoroughly before putting them in. I picked up a few heirloom varieties from the nursery downtown. I'm hoping the weather holds up so they get enough sun over the next few weeks. I also added some basil and rosemary along the edge of the bed. The garden is starting to look full again after the spring cleanup. I still need to put down a fresh layer of mulch, but that can wait until next weekend. Let me know if you have any tips for keeping the squirrels away, they've been digging up the marigolds.

I tried a new pasta recipe last night using that pesto you recommended. It was really simple to put together. I tossed in some cherry tomatoes and grilled chicken. The whole thing came together in about twenty minutes. I think I'll add it to the regular rotation.

I started reading that mystery novel you mentioned last month. The plot twists are really well done so far. I think I'm about halfway through and I have a few suspects already. The author does a great job of building suspense without relying on cheap cliffhangers. I find myself picking it up during lunch breaks and staying up later than I should to finish one more chapter. I'll let you know how it ends. If you have any other recommendations in the same genre, send them over. I also picked up a non-fiction book about space exploration that looks interesting, but I haven't cracked it open yet. Let me know what you're reading these days.
