yeah the raised bed project finally came together after way more trips to the hardware store than I planned honestly I had no idea how much soil it would take to fill those beds but once everything was set up it looked really good I went with cedar for the frame since it holds up better in the rain and I lined the bottom with landscape fabric to keep the weeds out I planted tomatoes peppers and basil on one side kiAFdgFzUTs and then I did cucumbers and zucchini on the other side I also threw in some marigolds around the edges because I heard they help with pests so far everything is sprouting nicely and I'm already thinking about what to add for the fall season I might try kale and carrots since they handle cooler weather pretty well anyway if you want to come by and see it just let me know I'll be out there almost every morning watering and checking on things it's been really relaxing actually

so I finally did that hike we talked about last month the one up to alder lake and honestly it was tougher than I expected the trail was pretty steep in the first couple miles and I definitely should have brought more water but the view at the top was completely worth it the water was this incredible deep blue and there were still patches of snow around the edges even this late in the season we sat up there for about an hour just eating snacks and watching the clouds move through the valley I saw a couple of marmots too they were really bold one of them came right up to my backpack trying to get into the side pocket and I'm pretty sure I saw a hawk circling above the ridge on the way down my knees were not happy about it but I would totally do it again next time I will bring trekking poles and maybe a filter so I can refill from the lake I think you would really like it up there
