We had a nice chat yesterday about the book I finished last week. I told you it was a slow start but then the middle chapters really pulled me in. The way the author described the coastal town made me feel like I was walking those streets myself. I’m already thinking about reading her earlier novels. My brother recommended one called The Night Tide but I haven’t found a copy yet. Have you read anything by that author? I should probably check out the library app on my phone. Anyway just wanted to share that because I know you enjoy hearing about my reading adventures. It’s funny how a good story can change your whole mood for the day. Let me know what you think if you get around to it.
Oh and about Saturday – I’m still free in the afternoon if you want to grab coffee. There’s that new place near the park that everyone’s been talking about. I heard they have outdoor seating and the weather looks perfect. I’ll wait to hear from you before I make any plans.

I was just thinking about that podcast we listened to on our last road trip. The one about urban gardening and how people turn small balconies into full vegetable patches. I tried growing basil on my windowsill but it didn’t work out – I think it needed more sun. Maybe I’ll try again with a different spot. My sister has a raised bed and she harvests tomatoes until late fall. It’s so impressive. I might ask her for some starter plants next spring. Anyway the reason I’m writing is because I saw a great documentary last night about bees and pollination and it reminded me of our chat. I keep meaning to plant more flowers that attract bees. Do you have any suggestions for easy perennials?
Let me know when you have a free evening. We could catch up properly.
