I finally decided to tackle that leaky kitchen faucet this weekend. Watched about four different tutorials online and felt pretty confident going in. Well, confidence got me about halfway through before I realized I needed a special socket tool I definitely did not own. Ran to the hardware store and the guy there was super helpful, walked me through the whole thing again. Got back home, took everything apart, replaced the cartridge, and put it all back together. Only had one small extra piece left over which I'm choosing to believe was not important. Turned the water back on and no leaks. Felt like a genuine victory. The whole thing took like three hours but honestly I'd call that a win for a first attempt. Next time I'll probably just call a plumber though. loaEDNWQuJooEjn

Been really getting into historical fiction lately and just finished this incredible novel set in 14th century France. The author did such a good job bringing that time period to life, the politics, the daily struggles, the small joys people found in ordinary moments. I found myself staying up way too late two nights in a row because I could not put it down. The main character was this apothecary's apprentice and the descriptions of the different herbs and remedies were fascinating. Made me want to learn more about medieval medicine honestly. Already recommended it to three people. My coworker ordered a copy right after I told her about it. Love when that happens. Been trying to read more consistently this year and this book definitely helped reignite that habit. Currently deciding what to start next.
