Regarding your question about the weekend get-together, I think Saturday afternoon would work best for everyone. I checked with the group and most people are free after 2pm. We could set up in the backyard since the weather forecast looks good. I was thinking we could keep it simple with some grilled items and sides. Let me know if you think we need to arrange for extra seating or if people usually bring their own chairs. I have a couple of coolers we can use for drinks. Also, I wanted to ask if anyone has dietary restrictions I should know about. I can make a few different options so everyone has something they can eat. The kids can play in the yard while the adults hang out on the patio. I will send out a confirmed time once I hear back from everyone. I was also thinking about having some music playing in the background to set a nice mood. Let me know your thoughts on the menu when you get a chance.
I saw that new outdoor furniture set at the store last week and it looked really nice. It might be worth checking out if you are still looking for extra seating. The cushions were thick and the frame seemed sturdy. I remember you mentioned wanting something that could stay outside all season. That one might fit what you need. Let me know if you want me to send you the details.

Thanks for asking about the book recommendations. I just finished reading a historical fiction novel set in the 1920s and I really enjoyed it. The characters were well developed and the plot had several unexpected twists. I have been trying to read more in that genre lately. The author does a great job of painting a vivid picture of the time period without getting too bogged down in details. I would suggest starting with that one if you are looking for something new to read. The pacing is steady and keeps you engaged throughout. Let me know if you want me to lend you my copy. I think you would enjoy the writing style based on what you have told me about books you like in the past. We could discuss it after you finish if you want.
I also started a non-fiction piece about early American explorers and it has been fascinating so far. The research seems thorough and the storytelling makes it easy to follow. I am only about halfway through but I can already tell it will be one of my favorites this year. Let me know what genre you are in the mood for and I can give you more options. I keep a list of everything I read so I can always look back at what worked well and what did not. I would be happy to share that list with you if you are interested.
