Regarding your question about the weekend plans, I think we should go ahead with the lake trip on Saturday. The weather forecast looks good and I already checked that the cabin rental is available. We can bring the fishing gear and maybe try that new grill for dinner. I'll bring the cooler with drinks and snacks. My brother mentioned he might join us with his kayak if that works for everyone. Let me know if you want me to pick up anything else from the store on Friday. I was thinking we could also stop at that farmers market on the way back Sunday morning if time allows. They have really good local honey and fresh produce. We should also plan what music to bring for the speaker system. Last time the bluetooth connection was spotty so maybe download some playlists ahead of time. Let me know your thoughts on the timing. I think leaving by 8 AM would give us the best parking spot near the dock.

I wanted to follow up on the recipe you asked about last week. The roasted vegetable dish turned out really well and it was quite simple to prepare. I used zucchini, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and red onion tossed in olive oil with some herbs. The key is to roast them at a high temperature so they caramelize properly without getting soggy. I served it alongside grilled chicken that I marinated in lemon and garlic for about two hours. Everyone at the dinner really enjoyed the combination. I also made a side of quinoa with fresh parsley and mint which added a nice freshness to the meal. For dessert I tried a new berry crumble recipe that used oats and brown sugar on top. It was easy to put together and the house smelled wonderful while it baked. If you want I can send you the exact measurements and timing details. Let me know how it goes if you decide to try it yourself.
