I finally got a chance to look at those photos from the weekend trip you sent over. The lighting at the lookout point was incredible and I think you captured that golden hour perfectly. I tried to do a similar shot from the trailhead but the shadows were too harsh and it just didn't come out the same way at all. Your composition skills have really improved since we started doing these hikes together. I was thinking we could try that new trail out past the reservoir next Saturday if the weather holds up. Let me know what you think and if you want to bring that nice camera again because I'd love to get some practice with the landscape settings on mine. I finally figured out how to adjust the aperture properly so maybe I can get something halfway decent this time around. The wildflowers should be starting to bloom too which would make for some really nice close-up shots if we can find a good patch. I'll pack some snacks and water and we can make a full afternoon of it if you're free.

I wanted to circle back on the book you recommended last week. I finally picked up a copy and I'm about halfway through now and honestly I wasn't sure what to expect but it's really drawing me in. The way the author develops the main character through those small everyday moments feels so grounded and real compared to a lot of the stuff I've been reading lately. I think you'd appreciate the chapter about the garden especially because it reminded me of that conversation we had about growing tomatoes and how the soil quality changed everything. I'm already looking forward to the next installment in the series if it holds up this well. I also started looking into that podcast you mentioned and added a few episodes to my queue for the commute this week. I'll let you know if any of them hit the mark the way you said they would. It's nice to have something new to dig into that isn't just the usual news cycle. Anyway, talk soon and thanks again for the tip. KDzFXMg63aM5
