Over the past decade, ADHD medication use during pregnancy has risen substantially, transforming what was once a rare clinical scenario into a common and complex decision point for clinicians and patients: What are the risks of continuing treatment and what are the risks of stopping it in pregnancy?

In this webinar, we will review the latest observational data on stimulant exposure in pregnancy and examine the limitations of the evidence base. Beyond the data, this session will center this clinical reality: ADHD is a disorder of executive functioning, safety, and daily life management; and untreated illness during pregnancy can carry meaningful consequences for maternal well-being, stability, and functioning.

Through clinical cases and practical guidance, participants will learn how to:
  • Counsel patients and consider options using a nuanced, individualized risk framework
  • Distinguish medication effects from underlying ADHD-related risks
  • Support shared decision-making
  • Integrate evolving evidence into real-world perinatal psychiatric care
