I finally got around to fixing that squeaky door hinge in the kitchen. Honestly, it was driving me crazy for weeks. I took the whole thing apart, cleaned out the old grease, and put it back together. It took me a solid afternoon because I had to run to the hardware store for a specific lubricant. The guy at the counter was super helpful and pointed me to a silicone-based spray instead of WD-40. He said WD-40 is more of a solvent than a proper lubricant, which I never really knew. Anyway, I followed his advice, and the door swings completely silent now. It is such a small thing, but it is incredibly satisfying every time I walk through it. Next weekend I might tackle the bathroom faucet that has been dripping, but I’m hoping that is just a washer replacement and not a whole new cartridge situation.

I just finished reading a trilogy that completely blew me away. The world building is incredible, and the author manages to weave in so many layers without it ever feeling overwhelming. I was reading late into the night because I just had to know what happened next. I started the first book on a whim, and by the end of the week I had devoured all three. If you are into character driven stories with a bit of mystery woven into the plot, I think you would really like them. I am already looking for something new to read, but I have a feeling it is going to be hard to top that series. Let me know if you want me to send you the title. I think you would appreciate the pacing and the way the author describes the setting. It made me want to travel more, honestly.
