Oh yes I totally get what you mean about the light in that room. We tried three different lamps before we found one that didn't cast weird shadows everywhere. The tall one with the linen shade ended up working best but honestly it was more expensive than I wanted to spend. I keep thinking I should have just gone with the floor model from the big store but my partner insisted we needed something warmer. Anyway how was your weekend? Did you ever finish sanding that old dresser you found? I remember you said the drawers were sticking. Let me know if you need help carrying it up those narrow stairs I know how tricky that turn is. Also I finally tried the new bakery on fourth street and their sourdough is incredible. You have to go early though they sell out before noon.
We should plan a day to go together maybe next Saturday if the weather holds. I heard they might do a baking class in the back room and I think it would be fun to learn how they get that crust so perfect. Let me know what you think.
Anyway nothing urgent just wanted to share. Talk soon hopefully.

I was telling my brother the other day that I think I finally figured out why my basil keeps wilting. It's not the water amount it's the pot placement. The windowsill gets way too hot in the afternoon and the roots just cook. He laughed and said he had the same problem last summer with his mint. We're going to swap cuttings this weekend to see if a different variety holds up better in the heat. Honestly I didn't think gardening would be this particular but here I am measuring sunlight hours like it's a science experiment. My neighbor said she just talks to hers and they do fine so maybe I'm overthinking it. Either way the tomatoes are coming along nicely and I managed to keep the squirrels away with that mesh netting I found at the hardware store. It took forever to install and I cut my finger on the edge but it was worth it. I've got about six little green ones on the vine right now and I check on them every morning like they're precious jewels. My partner thinks I've lost it but I don't care. There's something about watching them grow that makes all the effort feel small. We're planning to make sauce when they ripen and freeze some for winter. If this batch works out I might try bell peppers next year. I heard they need a lot of space but the taste is worth it. Anyway just wanted to share that small win. Hope your week is going well and that you're getting some sun too. It makes such a difference doesn't it. Let me know if you want to come by and see the garden sometime it's not much but it's coming together.
