Hey, I finally did that hike we talked about last month! The trail was about 7 miles round trip with some steep sections near the top. 1t7Aan5kZJTxKTT was the marker where we stopped for lunch the last time you went. The weather was perfect — sunny but not too hot. I packed sandwiches and plenty of water like you suggested. The view from the summit was incredible, you could see the whole valley. I took a bunch of photos to show you. Let me know if you want to go again next weekend, maybe we can try the longer loop trail you mentioned. I think it would be a great challenge and the fall colors should be starting soon. The trail was well maintained with a few wooden bridges over streams. I saw some wildflowers still blooming near the meadow section. A couple of fellow hikers told me there's a waterfall further up that I missed, so that's another reason to go back. Anyway, just wanted to share how it went!

I tried that pasta recipe you recommended and it turned out great! The sauce was creamier than I expected, probably because I used whole milk instead of heavy cream. I added some extra garlic and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat. Fresh basil from the garden made a big difference. I paired it with a simple green salad and some crusty bread. The family loved it, and there were barely any leftovers. I'm thinking of trying the variation with mushrooms next time. I also roasted some cherry tomatoes with olive oil and salt to toss in at the end, which added a nice sweetness. The whole meal came together in about 45 minutes. Next time I might double the recipe since it went so fast. Thanks again for sharing the recipe! Let me know if you have any other good ones to try.
