Hey, thanks for asking about the hike last weekend! It was really great actually. We started early around 6am to beat the heat and the trail was in perfect condition. The views from the top were absolutely stunning, especially with the morning light coming through the trees. We packed sandwiches and plenty of water, which was a good call because it ended up being a longer trek than we expected. The whole loop was about 8 miles with some pretty steep sections near the end. My legs were definitely feeling it the next day but it was totally worth it. I will send you the route if you want to try it yourself. Let me know if you are free next weekend, we are thinking of trying a different trail that is supposed to have a waterfall along the way. Also, I finally got that new backpack I was telling you about and it made a huge difference in comfort. The padded hip belt really takes the weight off your shoulders.
I also picked up some new hiking poles and they helped a ton on the steep downhill sections. The weather was perfect, not too hot and just a slight breeze. We saw a few deer near the ridge and a bunch of wildflowers along the meadow section. I am already looking forward to the next one.

I finally tried that pasta recipe you recommended and it turned out amazing! The sauce was so rich and flavorful, I could not believe how simple it was to make. I added a bit extra garlic because you know me, and I think it made it even better. The key was really letting the tomatoes simmer long enough to break down properly. I served it with some crusty bread and a simple side salad. My family loved it and asked me to add it to the regular rotation. I am thinking of trying the variations you mentioned, maybe with some roasted vegetables next time. Thanks again for sharing the recipe.
