Hey, have you tried that new bistro on 5th yet? I went there last Thursday and honestly it was pretty solid. The roasted eggplant dish had this smoky flavor that reminded me of the grill my uncle used to fire up during summer cookouts. We sat outside even though it was a bit chilly and the heaters made it comfortable. The service was a little slow but the waiter was super nice about it, comped us a round of appetizers. I think the squid ink pasta was the table favorite, though my friend swears by the mushroom risotto. I might go back next week if the weather holds up. Let me know if you want to join, I can grab a reservation for four pretty easy.
Anyway, I also finally watched that documentary about deep sea exploration everyone has been talking about. The footage of those bioluminescent creatures was unreal. I had no idea jellyfish could get that massive. The whole thing made me want to take a trip to the coast this spring. Nothing too crazy, just a weekend rental near the shore. Maybe I will actually book something this time instead of just talking about it.

You know I have been trying to get into gardening lately. Started with just a couple of basil plants on the windowsill but then it kind of snowballed. Now I have rosemary, thyme, and even a tiny avocado pit suspended in water with toothpicks. My kitchen counter looks like a science experiment. The basil actually grew faster than I expected, I already used some in a pasta sauce last night. I think the trick is not overwatering because I definitely drowned my first batch. Also I learned that tomatoes need a lot of direct sun, which my apartment does not get, so those are on hold for now. My neighbor grows these huge sunflowers in her backyard every year and she said I could borrow a corner of her plot if I want to try something bigger. Might take her up on that. I saw a really nice raised bed kit at the hardware store last weekend, cedar wood, looked pretty sturdy. Anyway just a little update on what I have been up to outside of the usual routine. Hope you are doing well and staying busy with your own projects. Let me know if you have any gardening tips because I clearly need all the help I can get.
