Oh hey, I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent me. It took a few tries to get the fermentation right, but the first loaf came out amazing with a really nice crust. I used a mix of whole wheat and bread flour. My kitchen smells like a bakery now. My neighbor even asked if I was selling loaves! I told her I just started and barely know what I'm doing. Let me know if you want me to save you a slice next time I bake. Also, I added a bit of rosemary and sea salt on top, which gave it a fantastic savory twist. Totally recommend trying that variation.

Have you seen the new documentary series about ancient Rome? I just finished the second episode and the production quality is stunning. They used a lot of detailed miniatures and CGI to reconstruct the city. It really puts into perspective how advanced their engineering was. I always thought the Colosseum was mainly for gladiator fights, but they explain how it was also used for massive simulated naval battles. Totally blew my mind. You should check it out if you have a free evening. Let me know what you think when you get a chance to watch it!
