Thanks for asking about the community garden plot rotation schedule. I checked with the coordinator yesterday and here is what I found out. The board decided to shift the beds around this season because of soil depletion in the north section. They want to move the legumes over to where the brassicas were planted last year and give the nightshade area a full season of fallow with a cover crop of clover. I told them we would need extra compost delivery by mid April if we go that route and they said that is already arranged. The water access points will stay the same so no changes needed on our drip line setup. If you want to sign up for the Saturday morning work crew the slots are open on the shared document I sent last week. Let me know if you want me to reserve a spot for you or if you prefer the Wednesday evening shift instead.

Regarding your question about the trail maintenance schedule for the ridge loop. I spoke with the ranger station this morning and they confirmed the south section will be closed the first two weeks of May for drainage work. The north loop stays open but they ask that hikers stay on the marked path because of recent erosion near the creek crossing. They still need volunteers for the brush clearing day on April 27th and asked if our group could cover the stretch from the old fire tower to the meadow. I said we could probably get six or seven people out there. They will provide loppers and gloves but suggest bringing your own water and snacks. The parking pass is waived for volunteers that day so just tell them at the gate you are with the trail crew. Let me know if you can make it so I can add your name to the sign-in sheet.
