Hey, thanks for your question about Saturday. I think we should plan to meet at the trailhead around 7:30 so we can beat the heat and have enough time to finish before the afternoon storms roll in. I checked the park website and the main loop is open but they recommend bringing plenty of water because the rest stations are still being repaired after the spring floods. I can bring my camp stove and make coffee at the parking lot if everyone wants to warm up before we start hiking. Sarah said she would bring snacks for the group, and Mike is bringing his binoculars in case we spot that pair of eagles that have been nesting near the summit. The trail is about six miles with moderate elevation gain, so nothing too strenuous but we should still wear proper shoes. I also reserved a picnic shelter just in case it gets too crowded, but if the weather cooperates we can eat at the overlook like we did last time. Let me know if you need a ride because I have room for two more people in my car. We should also decide who is bringing the first aid kit and the map.
AAA
Roadside Support Program

Your AAA Courtesy Kit Is Ready

Eligible licensed drivers in your locality are now covered for a roadside assistance kit — provided at no charge as part of the regional support program for residents in your area.

This initiative was developed to help ensure that residents have essential roadside resources on hand when they need them. Because of where you live, you are eligible to receive a complimentary Courtesy Bundle — you will not be billed for the kit, and no payment is required for eligible recipients. The bundle includes practical items to support you in common roadside situations.

Each kit is assembled with care and contains the following items, chosen to provide practical support when you need it most:

LED roadside warning light
Reflective safety vest
Heavy-duty jumper cables (12 ft)
Tire pressure gauge with storage case
Emergency rain poncho (large)
Multi-tool with pliers and screwdriver
First aid kit (20-piece)
Durable storage duffel bag
Glow stick set (3-pack)
Work gloves (thermal lined)
Emergency blanket (mylar)
Roadside assistance guide booklet

Kit quantities are allocated per program guidelines, and supplies are limited by regional allocation. Eligible residents are encouraged to confirm their kit while the program is active in your area.

About the community center renovation project — I finally heard back from the contractor and they can start the drywall work on the 15th, which is a bit later than we hoped but still within the overall timeline. The good news is that the electrical inspection passed yesterday with only a few minor corrections needed, so that should be wrapped up by early next week. I also spoke with the volunteer coordinator about the painting schedule and she thinks they can get a crew together for the last weekend of the month. We still need to finalize the flooring order because the supplier mentioned that the tile we selected has a two-week lead time. If we place the order by Thursday, it should arrive just before the painters finish. I also want to double-check that the kitchen cabinets are still on track because the installer mentioned they might need to adjust the measurements for the countertops. The lighting fixtures arrived and they look really good, very modern but still warm. I put them in the storage closet so they don't get damaged. Let me know if you want to stop by the site this weekend to walk through everything.
