Yeah I totally get what you mean about the timing. We were planning a backyard cookout but the weather forecast keeps shifting so we might move it to the weekend after. I still haven't decided on the sides but probably a simple pasta salad and grilled veggies. Let me know if you want to swing by.
We finally swapped out the old light fixtures in the hallway and it makes such a difference. The place feels brighter and more open. My brother helped with the wiring since he's done it before.
Also we started looking into organizing the garage because it's become a catch-all for boxes. We found some old board games and photo albums from years ago. Might try to sell a few things or just donate them.

I ended up swapping my car appointment to next Tuesday because this week got too crowded. The shop said they could fit me in around noon so that works better. Hopefully it's just a routine check and nothing major.
Also a friend recommended a new podcast series that digs into classic films from the 70s. I'm only two episodes in but the production quality is solid and the hosts have good chemistry. Might be a nice background listen while driving.
We finally put together that bookshelf we picked up a while back. It took longer than expected because the instructions were vague but it looks decent now. Thinking of painting the wall behind it a slightly different tone for contrast.
