We finally did that hike up to Eagle Peak on Saturday. It was way steeper than I expected, honestly. The trail was about 6 miles round trip with a pretty solid incline the whole way up. We packed way too many snacks and not enough water, so by the time we hit the summit we were totally wiped. The view was absolutely incredible though, you could see the whole valley and the lake shimmering in the distance. There were a bunch of wildflowers blooming along the ridge, mostly lupine and some bright orange poppies. It took us about an hour to get down because my knees were shot by that point. 36bd6jREZFy4 We stopped at that little diner on the way home and I had the best burger I've had in months. Anyway, just wanted to share because I know you were thinking about doing that trail next weekend. Definitely go for it, just bring extra water and start early before it gets too hot.

So for book club this month, we picked up that historical fiction novel set in 1920s Paris. I wasn't sure about it at first, but once I got past the first few chapters, it really pulled me in. The descriptions of the city are beautiful and the characters feel so real. It's a pretty quick read, too. Let me know if you want to borrow it when I'm done. I'm about halfway through and I have a feeling it's going to have a wild twist at the end. Also, I heard the author is working on a sequel set in Rome which sounds amazing. Anyway, I hope you're doing well and that your week has been relatively calm so far.
