Oh, I forgot to tell you about my sourdough starter. I named it Doug, and it's been surprisingly low maintenance for something that needs feeding every week. I made my first loaf last Sunday and it actually turned out okay — not too dense, decent crust. I burnt the second one a little because I got distracted watching football, but it was still edible with enough butter. I also tried making focaccia with rosemary from the garden and it smelled incredible. My neighbor stopped by to borrow a screwdriver and I sent her home with a slice.
