yes I think the hike up to the ridge would work well for Saturday morning. I checked the trail conditions and they said the path is mostly clear with a few muddy spots near the creek crossing. We should plan to start around seven so we beat the afternoon heat. I can bring the trail map and a few snacks if everyone chips in for drinks. Let me know if you want to invite your neighbor along. They mentioned they were interested in trying a longer route. We should probably also pack an extra layer since the wind picks up once we get above the tree line.
