Yeah I finally tried that recipe you sent me last week and it turned out better than I expected. I was a little nervous about the timing since I usually rush through cooking but I took it slow and followed each step. The sauce was the trickiest part but once I got it to the right consistency everything else fell into place. I ended up serving it with a side salad and some crusty bread which worked really well. Next time I think I'll add a bit more garlic and some fresh herbs on top for color. Let me know b7dpylMJht2LWd if you have any other recipes you'd recommend trying. I'm on a bit of a cooking kick lately and want to experiment more. I saw that new cookbook at the store last weekend and almost picked it up but decided to check a few things online first. My neighbor said she tried a similar dish last month and added roasted peppers which sounded like a nice twist. I might try that version next time I make it. The whole process took about an hour and a half but it was worth the effort. I prepped everything the night before which helped a lot with timing. Cleanup was minimal too which is always a bonus.

We finally made it out to the botanical gardens this weekend and it was absolutely worth the drive. The weather was perfect and everything was in bloom which made for a really nice afternoon. I didn't realize how big the place was so we ended up spending almost four hours walking around and still didn't see everything. The desert section was my favorite even though I usually prefer tropical plants. They had some really unique specimens that I've never seen before. We stopped for coffee at the little cafe near the entrance and just sat outside for a while enjoying the view. I'm already thinking about going back next month to see what changes with the season. My friend brought her camera and got some amazing shots of the orchids especially. The light in the greenhouse was just right around mid-morning. I think next time we'll pack a picnic since there were plenty of shaded spots with benches. The whole place had such a calm energy to it that made it easy to slow down and just take everything in. It's rare to find a spot that feels both peaceful and engaging at the same time.
