Hey, have you listened to that new podcast series on urban farming? I just finished the third episode, and it completely changed my perspective on rooftop gardens. They interviewed a guy in Chicago who grows enough produce to supply a small restaurant co-op. The techniques he uses are surprisingly simple—mostly vertical planters and a rainwater collection system. I'm seriously considering trying a small setup on my balcony this summer. The episode also touched on composting, which I've always found a bit intimidating, but they broke it down into really manageable steps. I'm going to start with a simple worm bin and see how it goes. Let me know if you give it a listen! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
Also, how are things with your family? I hope everyone is doing well. Let's catch up properly this weekend if you're free.

Good morning! I've been planning out my vegetable garden layout for this year, and I think I've finally settled on a design. I'm allocating three raised beds for tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. I'm going to try trellising the cucumbers vertically to save space. I'm also adding a dedicated herb spiral with rosemary, thyme, oregano, and basil. The key change this year is that I'm building a drip irrigation system on a timer so I don't have to hand water every day. I tested the setup last weekend, and it works perfectly. I'm also starting my seeds indoors this week. I've set up a small grow station in the garage with heat mats and LED lights. It's a bit of an experiment, but the seed packets arrived yesterday, and I'm excited to get started.
Anyway, just wanted to share the update. Let me know what you're growing this season!
