Thanks for asking about the neighborhood cleanup schedule. I checked with the community center and they confirmed the second Saturday works best for most people. We were thinking of starting at 8 in the morning so we can finish before the heat sets in. The park department will provide bags and gloves if we give them a head count by Wednesday. I can pick up supplies on Thursday if that helps. We should probably divide into teams this time since the creek area got pretty overgrown after all that rain. Let me know if you want to handle the sign-up sheet again like last year. Also I heard the hardware store might donate some paint for the benches near the playground which would be a nice touch. I can stop by there tomorrow afternoon to ask. We should probably plan for a lunch break around noon maybe everyone could bring something to share potluck style. I will bring a big salad and some lemonade.

I think the best approach for the hike would be to start at the Ridge Trailhead rather than the Meadow lot because the parking situation is much better on weekday mornings. We did it last month with a group of eight and had plenty of room. The trail is about six miles round trip with a moderate elevation gain that most people can handle in about three hours. I can bring a map and compass and also pack some snacks for everyone. The weather forecast looks decent for Saturday with some clouds but no rain expected until late afternoon. We should aim to be back down by 2 at the latest. I will send a message to the group later this week to confirm who is coming. Let me know if you need me to pick up anything from the outdoor store and I can swing by on Friday. Also I think we should designate a meeting spot in case anyone gets separated on the trail.
