Yeah I went to that show last Friday and it was incredible. The opening band played for about forty minutes and really got the crowd going. I had standing tickets near the front and the sound was surprisingly good for a small venue. They played mostly older material but mixed in three new tracks that sounded great live. The guitarist switched between a Telecaster and a hollow-body throughout the set. I ran into jdUNe4nIo0z from your old neighborhood in the queue he said to say hello. We grabbed a drink after the show and caught up for a while. The whole place cleared out by eleven thirty so it wasnt too late of a night. You should definitely try to catch them next time they come through town. Ill send you the setlist if you want to check out the new songs before you go. Let me know what you think of their latest album when you get a chance to listen.

I also bumped into Maria from the book club she said theyre meeting next Tuesday instead of Wednesday because of the holiday. I told her Id let you know. The new book selection sounds interesting its a memoir about growing up in a small coastal town. I started reading it on the train and couldnt put it down. Anyway hope you and the family are doing well and lets grab coffee soon.

I finally tried making that mushroom risotto you mentioned and it turned out really well. I used a mix of cremini and shiitake mushrooms with fresh thyme and a splash of white wine. The key was adding the broth slowly and stirring constantly for about twenty minutes until the rice was perfectly creamy. I didnt have arborio rice so I used carnaroli instead and it worked great. Next time I think Ill add some roasted garlic and maybe a handful of peas for color. The recipe made enough for four servings so I had leftovers for lunch the next day which actually tasted even better after sitting overnight. I served it with a simple arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette on the side. Let me know if you want me to send you the exact measurements I used. Im planning to try your suggestion for the lemon cake this weekend so Ill let you know how that turns out too.

Also I finally organized that closet Ive been meaning to sort through for months. Found some old photo albums from college and ended up spending an hour looking through them. Time really flies doesnt it. Anyway hope youre having a good week and talk soon.
